In November, during the first two weekends of the month, the Sagra del Bartolaccio takes place in Tredozio. This village festival is dedicated to the “Bartolaccio” (bartlàz) and to the tastes of the ancient Tuscan-Romagna tradition. Bartolaccio is an original local specialty: a tortello stuffed with boiled potatoes, pork belly, parmesan and pecorino cheese, which is grilled. During the festival, a market is set up in the streets of the village, with food stalls, live music and various shows.
In mid-November, Modigliana hosts “Non solo Kiwi” (“Not only kiwi”), an event dedicated to the kiwi and the many ways in which this tasty berry, which is widely cultivated in the area, can be eaten and prepared. mIndeed, a wide range of desserts, cocktails and long drinks made with kiwi and its derivatives are prepared at the stands to delight your taste buds. mStarting from the morning, the streets of the village are filled with a street market, music, entertainment and tasting of kiwi products from New Zealand and Brazil. In addition to the foreign novelties, typical Romagna dishes, polenta, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine are served.
In the Bidente Valley, Galeata has been celebrating the Fair of St. Andrew since 1802, combined with the “Tortello alla lastra Festival”. The event, which takes place on the last weekend of November, is dedicated to the promotion of two typical products of the Galeata area (and don’t forget that the town has been awarded as a Slow Town): young wine and tortello alla lastra. The program includes the tasting of tortelli, other typical products and the young wine, in the Pro Loco stall in front of the Civic Theater (the organizers also advise: “appreciate the good food and the flavors of our land in the best restaurants of the valley”). In the morning a street market is set.
Finally, November ends with a famous festival in the center of Forli: the Fair of Santa Caterina. Every year, on November 25, near San Biagio church, the ancient tradition of giving nougat to girls is renewed and the Christmas holidays are officially inaugurated.
A few weeks later, on December 13th, Forli celebrates the Fair of Santa Lucia, during which the streets of the town center are filled with stalls and food stands. According to tradition, girls are given nougat. Right on the main street, Corso della Repubblica, Santa Lucia church is open for visits. Throughout the day, there is a ritual blessing of the eyes for the faithful, whose patron is the saint. In addition to this celebration, December is full of events related to the Christmas holidays, markets, exhibitions of living and non-living cribs, stalls and everything related to this festivity.
