The monastery of San Giovanni Battista and convent of the Augustinian nuns is an oasis of meditation in the centre of Forlimpopoli. From Piazza Garibaldi, take Via Saffi and you will find on the right side the façade of the Church of San Giovanni Battista, adjacent to the convent where the Augustinian nuns found hospitality in 1910, after having been removed from their original seat. The church has an austere brick façade, softened by the lunette with the scene of the Baptism of Christ executed in majolica by Faenza artist Goffredo Gaeta.
The monastery and church can be visited during the ‘Monasteri aperti’ (Open Monasteries) initiative, usually held on the first weekend of October.
