The hills of the Bertinoro area run along a rocky ridge formed by the Spungone,
a particular type of sandstone that was originally a splendid reef, formed in this area 3 million years ago. The presence of the Spungone characterises the territory of Bertinoro, rich in naturalistic views, historical vestiges and lush vineyards.
The suggested itinerary, from Capocolle to Fratta Terme, passing through the village of Bertinoro and the village of Casticciano, offers a unique view of the area, where countryside and cultivated hills make nature quiet, wholesome and rich in biodiversity and specialities from the Romagna’s typical gastronomic tradition.
Charming landscapes preserve an important biological variety, thermal springs and an area excellent for wine production.
