Sorgara Park is a picturesque place where the ferruginous waters of Rio Petra flow, appreciated since ages for their important therapeutic properties.
In 1924, a new hydropinic establishment was inaugurated at Sorgara, using three different types of mineral water, called ‘Salutare’, ‘Gigliola’ and ‘Ferruginous’.
Michele Savelli, a Modigliana citizen living in Castrocaro, discovered the springs.
Since 1919, he had enthusiastically dedicated himself to researching this ancient and abandoned aquifer.
