Terra del Sole can be divided into two villages: Borgo Romano and Borgo Fiorentino.
Borgo Romano stretches 90 m in length and Borgo Fiorentino 95 m.
Their width (9 m) is equivalent to that of the height of the houses, according to Leonardo’s rule.
In perspective, they appear as a long straight line from Castle to Castle.
Only a keen observer can notice the peculiarity in building construction of the houses in Borgo Romano, having four houses that look similar to those in Borgo Fiorentino: for the last five, probably due to an interchange of the building manager, a wider front with three windows and an illuminated staircase was adopted, reducing the number of houses to eighteen, rather than the planned twenty.
As in Borgo Fiorentino, on the Piazza side, the houses in Borgo Romano have a room on the third floor, called “clumbarott”, which in some cases formed the living quarters of one family.
At the beginning of Borgo Romano lies Palazzo del Provveditore, which, in perfect Renaissance style, dominates the view of the Borgo.
Come arrivare: In auto percorrendo la SS 67 Tosco Romagnola a circa 9 km da Forlì.
