An itinerary following the footsteps of Dante Alighieri, who was hosted by the Da Polenta family, originally from Bertinoro. The tour starts from Ravenna, a crucial location for Dante’s life and work, a town that is famous all over the world for its mosaics.
Just outside Ravenna, you can cycle surrounded by nature, on beautiful roads suitable for gravel bikes.
After leaving the valley, the route climbs up to Polenta, then to Bertinoro, the turning point of the itinerary. These two locations are very close and they host various proofs of Dante’s presence; it could be interesting to stop there for a break before returning to Ravenna.
