Complex of ruins of dwellings and an oratory that together constituted the parish of Bastia suppressed in 1883. The ancient castle “castrum Bucchoni ” belonged in the past to the monks of San Benedetto, then to the Guidi counts of Modigliana and finally to Dovadola. It then came under the rule of Florence, where it remained until 1425.
Later it lost its importance together with the growth of the village at the bottom of the valley.
During the month of August, the Pro Loco organises guided excursions
How to get there: The ruins of the castle can only be reached via a mule track that connects Ponte della Brusia to Bocconi (about 1 km).
