The San Nicolò Gate (also called ‘dellOrologio’), allowed entry to the villages through the second circle of walls. On the façade we find the ancient sundial and the coats of arms of the general commissioners Luigi Guicciardini (1523), Bongianni Gianfigliazzi (1531-32) and Giovanni Diotisalvi Neroni (1550).
