The house where Pellegrino Artusi was born, located in Piazza Garibaldi, is no longer there and is marked by a plaque. However, to make up for its absence there is Casa Artusi, a centre of gastronomic culture dedicated to Italian home cooking, which since 2007 has been opening its doors to enthusiasts and curious people, housewives, professionals and connoisseurs, scholars and researchers, to all those who want to deepen their knowledge of Artusi’s culture and experience the practical side of home cooking. The House, created from the renovation of the splendid monumental complex of the Chiesa dei Servi (Church of the Servants) in Forlimpopoli, winds its way along a path made up of two souls: knowledge and know-how, the library and the kitchen, the pens and pots that characterised Pellegrino Artusi’s work.
Founded by the City of Forlimpopoli and the Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì, Casa Artusi daily pursues the objectives of tourism development and cultural promotion of the territory, through the diffusion of gastronomic culture on a national and international level.
