The Festive Pavilion is the Art Deco monument par excellence with its Art Nouveau finishes and decorations and original majolica tiles. During the year it hosts prestigious art exhibitions.
It was inaugurated in 1938, designed by architect Diego Corsari, and enriched by the splendid metallic luster ceramic decorations by Tito Chini, produced in the Tuscan manufactories of Borgo San Lorenzo.
The façade is distinctive, consisting of a semi-circular central section lined in travertine and large openings across two floors, and two lateral sections lined with iridescent bricks, on which relief tiles with metal lustres stand out: cornucopias, dolphins and amphorae. A pair of stylish green marble fountains complete the façade’s ornaments, as well as the inscription ‘PADIGLIONE’ at the top, on whose sides are two large metopes representing the Maternity.
Inside the building is an airy and scenic semicircular atrium, with a marble floor and a large central circular mosaic in polychrome majolica tiles. The hall is surmounted by a beautiful skylight featuring three concentric bands adorned by symbols of the constellations, zodiac and stars.
The true pride and joy of the building, immersed in a green park, it can seat up to 400 people, plus an auditorium, and can be divided into several rooms: a plenary room, the card room, the red room, the spring room and the billiard room. It is suitable for conventions, congresses, banquets, parades, exhibitions, cultural events.
Facility: Includes 1 conference hall with 400 seats, 5 meeting rooms and 1 exhibition area.
The ‘Notte Celeste’, the festival dedicated to wellness and health, focuses on the world of spas and thermal waters.
Each summer, as the temperatures rise in the evenings, visitors and tourists are entertained until late into the night by a series of themed activities
Notte Celeste celebrates this tradition by organizing events involving both the establishments and the surrounding territory.
From the green valleys of Emilia to the Romagna shores, the festival includes concerts, excursions, markets, entertainment and guided tours for all ages and tastes.
Matching the color theme of the long spa night, the Spas dress up in blue and offer a wide range of activities: from wellness treatments for face and body, to a light-blue salt scrub, access to the thermal baths and pools, and wellness packages.
Even food and wine are coloured according to water tones: dinners, aperitifs and light-blue cocktails can be enjoyed in the region of good food.
Therefore, Notte Celeste is the celebration of bathing and wellness in all its forms, from sport, entertainment and pure relaxation.
An experience to be enjoyed alone or shared with family, friends and as a couple.
The most important cultural event in the Medicean city takes place on the first Sunday in September.
In Renaissance costumes, 300 participants walk from their respective castles to Piazza d’Armi, where the Crossbowmen compete in an ancient crossbow shooting competition, to win the Palio: a banner depicting Santa Reparata.
The challenge is between the two boroughs of Terra del Sole, the Florentine and the Roman, who compete for the Palio on the occasion of the inauguration of the Grand Ducal Commissioner who was sent to Terra del Sole from Florence for over 200 years, until 1769.
In his honor, lunches, festivities and competitions were organized in Piazza d’Armi.
A historic market is also set up beside the church during the event.
On previous days, thematic side events are organized and the propitiatory dinner is held by both districts with games and music.
An old popular festival in Terra del Sole, an agrarian thanksgiving rite propitiating the year: on this special day, the products of the land are offered in the church, while a large bonfire is lit in the center of the square.
A street market, a handicrafts and local products market, a food stand with local delicacies, the “Art’infanzia” art exhibition, guided tours, live music, street artists and games are set, too.
The central event is the burning of “Fugarena” bonfire in the square, , using pruned tree branches, which according to remote traditions ,was used in gratitude to the agrarian gods after the harvest and olive picking.
The printing of fabrics is a typical production of Romagna, according to the most ancient tradition.
Printed Romagnola cloths had a considerable diffusion until the beginning of the 900’s.
Then they were forgotten and rediscovered. The commitment and passion of the printers has been crucial to the success of the activity, which associates the printed canvas with the image of the Romagna tradition.
The traditional method of hand printing is defended by the Stampatori Tele Romagnole (Printers Association of Romagna) from industrial imitations and spreads the culture that underlies the tradition Romagna canvases themselves with its original characteristics.
In Castrocaro Terme the Stamperia Tessuti Stramiello is the faithful guardian of the secrets of hand printing on fabric. The laboratory is frequently visited by school groups and groups of tourists who flock to the spa town. A phone call allows you to book a visit to witness the manufacturing process.
