The only historical monument (11th century) in Fiumana, it was restored and reopened for worship on 29 December 2002. The Abbey of Fiumana, already in the 11th century, was an important landmark in the Forlì area, with an ever-increasing jurisdiction up to the appointment of priests and rectors of parishes and churches in the area, up to San Pietro in Arco (today’s Villa Rovere). The abbey’s autonomous life continued for five centuries until, for various reasons, it was united with the abbey of San Mercuriale di Forlì (in 1493).
