In the 30’s and 40’s many artists wanted to pay homage to Predappio in their works. Local painters such as Mastro Lupo from Predappio (Benito Partisani, the first mayor after the war) and Maceo Casadei, Giovanni Marchini and Francesco Olivucci from Forlì, and others from other parts of Italy such as Uberto Bonetti, Piffero, Giulio Cesare Vinzio and Teodoro Wolf-Ferrari. Some of the works created during this period can still be seen in Palazzo Varano, the town hall.
