The traditional Festa del Falò (Bonfire Festival), which has its roots in the mists of time, is held at Rocca San Casciano on the weekend after Easter.
On the banks of the Montone river, between the Borgo and Mercato districts, majestic haystacks are burned. In the past, the preparation of these haystacks was dedicated to Saint Joseph to ensure a good spring harvest. The symbol of the festival is fire, which unites, warms and strengthens community ties.
The festivities continue with a spectacular fireworks display, or “Le Botte”, with parades of floats, and end with dancing in the square until late at night.
