Franco Agosto Park in Forlì has three characteristics that make it unique among the green areas of the city. Its strategic location, right next to the old walls of the historical center, gives it a suggestive atmosphere and a direct link to the city’s history. With an area of 26 hectares, bordered by the majestic Montone River, the park extends into a well-defined natural environment. Of particular interest is its proximity to another large green area that surrounds the Pierantoni Hospital, creating a unicum of equipped green spaces that enrich the urban fabric. Each detail of the park has been carefully planned and taken care of: from the selection and growing of the plants, to the layout of the paths and the arrangement of the benches, as well as the landscaping and the underground network for irrigation and other logistical needs. The internal paths, enlivened by the presence of free-roaming rabbits, and the circular path along the Montone River, are regularly used by the inhabitants for walking, jogging and cycling. The park offers a variety of attractions and facilities for entertainment and recreation, including a charming pond populated by free-ranging geese and ducks, a sports center with basketball, soccer, beach volleyball and bocce courts, and a riding stable for horseback riding enthusiasts. Areas dedicated to children, with games, inflatables and fitness trails, as well as refreshment points, such as bars, piadina kiosks and a restaurant-pizzeria pub, complete the park’s leisure facilities, making it the ideal place to spend pleasant moments in the open air, surrounded by nature and fun.
