Extremely interesting from a naturalistic point of view, this route allows you to leap millions of years back in time, walking among fossilized stones where the shells of ancient seashells are clearly visible, the spungone; the force of water and wind have eroded and modelled the landscape, creating fascinating caves and ravines. The start is in front of the entrance to the thermal baths in Viale Marconi, from here we reach Piazza Mazzini and then follow Via delle Sorgenti to the small bridge by the old brickworks. You turn left and proceed along Via Rio Cozzi, skirting the Rio Piano stream (a particularly shady area). After a distance of 1,500 metres, turn left and proceed along the dirt road for a few hundred meters until the barrier: at this point, turn right and the country road that leads to Rupe dei Cozzi. After passing Rupe dei Cozzi, we proceed along a flat, grassy stretch and come to a fork in the road: at at this point we recommend a short diversions to the right, following the gravel road, so that after travelling 200 metres uphill, you can admire the extraordinary landscape of the Laghetti of Bolga, where the salsojodic waters gush out and are collected. These waters, by means of a pipeline underground, are conveyed to the thermal establishments. Returning to the crossroads, turn left, cross the ditch and follow the road through the vineyards, which leads to the farmstead Azienda Agricola Valle di Mezzo: once near the farmyard, proceed left, along the white road that leads to the Pergola farm and then continue downhill along the tarmac road to the village. In the last stretch you skirt the Rocca and the ancient walls of Castrocaro Terme.
