Ancient Florentine Road Walking Tour

Starting in front of the entrance to the thermal baths, proceed along Via Roma, Via Garibaldi, Via Maltoni, Via Biondo until you reach the little church dei Caduti. In front of the church, turn right onto Via Baracca, which later becomes Via Savelli, until you reach Sorgara. From the square in front of the gate leading to the Parco delle Sorgara, where the asphalt road ends, take the gravel road on the left, following the appropriate signs. Follow the entire gravel road (this is the old Florentine road) that winds along the foot of the hill among cultivated fields and uninhabited cottages. At the side of the Pieve Salutare cemetery, take the asphalt road, turning left. At the next crossroads, turn right and descend to the former state road. After a very short stretch, just after crossing the small bridge over the Rio del Giallo stream, turn right onto Via Papa Giovanni XXIII and reach Pieve Salutare. Return back along the same route.
