Teatro Mentore 2024/2025

The 2024-25 season of the Teatro Mentore in Santa Sofia is about to start, with a rich programme ranging from prose to operetta, from children’s theatre to great music, under the direction of Ruggero Sintoni.

The season starts on Friday 13 December at 9 pm with ‘La vedova allegra’, an operetta by Franz Lehár with the Corrado Abbati company that will bring a whirlwind of merriment.

Moving on to 2025, the second show on the bill opens the door to great Italian music: on Thursday 30 January Roberto Vecchioni will be in concert with his ‘Tra il silenzio e il tuono’ tour.

Back to the prose, on Sunday 23 February, Lella Costa and Gabriele Vacis will stage ‘Othello – di precise parole si vive’ (Othello – of precise words one lives), an updated and topical version of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy.

Sunday 23 March will be an opportunity to experience tragic and comic tones with Lucrezia Lante della Rovere and Arcangelo Iannace in ‘Non si fa così’.

On Friday 18 April, Davide Enia returns to Santa Sofia with the show ‘Autoritratto’ (Self-portrait), in which he recounts the mafia and the relationship of pure neurosis that binds Sicilians with Cosa Nostra.

Closing the season on Wednesday 14 May is the lively ‘Condominio mon amour’ with Giacomo Poretti and Daniela Cristofori.

In addition to this, there are the usual non-subscription appointments: during the Christmas period, the Concert of the ‘C. Roveroni’ band on 23 December and the essential appointment at the beginning of the year with jazz, with Sarah Jane Morris and the Solis String Quartet in ‘All you need is love’ on Tuesday 2 January, an evening homage to the Beatles organised by the Dai de Jazz Association.

Closing the festivities on Monday 6 January: ‘Cappuccetto e la nonna’ (Little Riding Hood and Grandma) by Giallo Mare Minimal Teatro, a show for families that will be performed at 4 p.m., with the collaboration of the CIF association of Santa Sofia.

As always, shows specially designed for schools will not be missing: on 21 March, ‘Hansel and Gretel’ by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri and Il Baule Volante will be staged, while on 4 April “Granny e il lupo – Tutto in una notte” (Granny and the Wolf – All in One Night) by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri – TCP Tantri Cosi Progetti will be performed.
