As evidenced by the coat of arms above the church door, the convent was founded in 1548 by Don Giovanni Maria Ronconi and developed and prospered especially in the 18th century, managing to acquire a vast patrimony.
The church was built by Giovan Battista Savelli between 1746 and 1748 on the site of a small chapel. The exterior is simple and severe but the interior is richly decorated with stucco and marble. The church underwent a radical restoration in 1930-31.
Church opening hours for the worshippers: from 7.15 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
