The bronze monument, the work of sculptor Mario Bertozzi was erected in Largo Cairoli and inaugurated on 5 September 1976, on Hospitality Day, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the resurrected Colonna degli Anelli.
Every year, on the occasion of the Hospitality Festival, the rite of the “New Winegrower” takes place, in which a parchment is handed over by representatives of the Romagna Wine Tribune and the President of the Winegrowers of Bertinoro, to a viticulturist starting this activity for the first time or renewing it during the year.
The monument desired by Mario Pezzi, owner of Fattoria Paradiso’s historic winery, following his “World Winegrower” Award, reflects the ancient and strong relationship between Bertinoro and wine.
