A Romanesque church dating back to the 13th century. At an unspecified time, it underwent extensive renovation. All that remains of the original structure is the apsidal part with small windows and the southern side with an arched portal. The façade is 19th-century, while the bell tower is very recent. The interior must have had a very wide plan. At an unspecified time, it underwent a very incisive renovation consisting of the extension of the church and the insertion of large pillars that created small chapels between them.
The frescoes in the apse area are of great interest. The oldest are those arranged along the curved wall and depict: The Madonna in a frontal position; The Madonna with child and praying at her feet (plus a fragmentary head). They are from the local school of the 13th century. In the apse basin: Christ enthroned with the Madonna and St Peter and symbols of the Evangelists, datable to the end of the 14th century. Further down, on the right, fragmentary figures of St Peter, St John and St Bartholomew from the 15th century. These are possibly the remains of a theory of the 12 Apostles. On the triumphal arch there was a large fresco depicting the Last Judgement with the Cross in the centre. Only the right side of the fresco remains, which, after being detached and restored, has now been hung. The work can be attributed to the Bolognese school of around 1360.
Opening times: Every day during worship hours.
Entrance fee: Visits are free of charge.
How to get there: The church is located 3 km from Modigliana along the provincial road towards Faenza
