The building is part of the group of social housing for workers built in the early 1930s. The low-cost housing for railway workers encountered many difficulties in their realisation. The first obstacle concerned the location: conceived at the corner of the station square with the boulevard to create a decent beginning, it had to be moved due to expropriation difficulties to the corner of what was then Via Crispi. Taking into account the requirements imposed by the Building Commission already for the post office workers’ houses, engineer Ezio Bianchi subjected the railway workers’ houses to a more accurate decorative treatment, taking clear inspiration from the nearby I.N.C.I.S. building that had just been built.
How to get there:
The building is located on the avenue that connects Piazzale della Vittoria to the railway station.
