The Museum, set up thanks to donations from members of the Associazione Nazionale Mutilati e Invalidi di Guerra (National Association of the Disabled and Invalid of War), houses a collection of historical relics from the ’15-’18 war, the Ethiopian war and the ’40-’45 period (weapons, coins, commemorative badges, flags, postcards and uniforms) as well as a collection of 43 paintings by the painter Maceo Casadei. On two floors, the building refers directly to a well-known and widespread style in Forlì, with its polished travertine slabs covering the front. Designed by Cesare Bazzani, the project is characterised by a mature and thoughtful reflection on the classical world. Among the many memories of the First World War, significant for both their human and historical value, those linked to Fulcieri Paulucci di Calboli (1893-1919) are particularly noteworthy.
