The Silkworm Museum offers visitors an updated and complete bibliography on sericulture and the silk industry.
The silkworm museum dedicated to Ciro Ronchi, a great spinner from Meldola, represents the recovery of three centuries of local tradition in Meldola, which in 1872 was at the top of world production of raw silk in competition with China and Japan. Easily used by students and teachers, it makes available to the public an updated and complete bibliography on sericulture and the silk industry.
The museum is managed by volunteers from the G.E.N.M. association (Meldola’s Entomological Naturalistic Group), promoters of the initiative.
Entrance fee: Visits are free.
Opening times: Due to enlargement works, the museum is temporarily closed.
