Located on the summit of Monte Trebbio, the bronze work, inaugurated on 19 June 1977, is a creation of Faenza-born Pierluigi Minardi.
Situated on the summit of Monte Trebbio, the monument stands on a large sandstone boulder in an intact setting with splendid vegetation. The bronze work, inaugurated on 19 June 1977, is a creation of Pierluigi Minardi from Faenza, who in an admirable synthesis made the bicycle and its man, as an act of love that unites the cyclist with the means that expresses him. The plaque below reads: On this hill, consecrated to sporting legend, Romagna, generous land of champions, celebrates in this bronze, the humble steel horse, source of athletic virtues of serene joy of life, of fertile inspiration, of its writers and poets. And the couplet by Olindo Guerrini: Sopra il ferreo corsier passo contento, come a novella gioventù rinato e sano e buono e libero mi sento.
